Beabadoobee fans, get ready for an electrifying new era! The acclaimed artist has officially announced her forthcoming album, 'Pylon,' set to follow her 2024 release 'This Is How Tomorrow Moves.' Along with the album announcement, she's dropped a brand new single, "Sun Has Set," giving us a taste of what's to come.
Beabadoobee describes the songs on 'Pylon' as deeply personal, originating from her diary entries. "A lot of the songs on this record are things I wish I could have said to someone," she explains, hinting at themes of raw emotion. The single "Sun Has Set" embodies this sentiment, with her describing it as having "petty tunnel vision—it’s like, I hate you. You’re gonna stay here and listen to how much I hate you. Because I never got to say that.” This promises an album full of candid and powerful expression.
Musically, 'Pylon' is set to embrace a sharper rock sound, drawing influences from classic grunge, midwest emo, and '90s radio rock – a style Beabadoobee has always found impactful. The album boasts a stellar lineup of collaborators from the alternative rock scene, including Paramore's Hayley Williams, Turnstile's Brendan Yates, Deftones' Chino Moreno, Title Fight's Shane Moran, and Pinegrove's Evan Stephens Hall. The project was produced by The 1975's Matty Healy and George Daniel, further solidifying its alternative credentials.
In addition to the album, Beabadoobee is embarking on her biggest tour to date, the Powerlines Tour. This marks her first-ever headline shows across North America, the UK, and Europe this autumn and winter. The tour kicks off on October 1st in Connecticut and includes stops at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden, The Kia Forum, and The O2 Arena. Fans will get the chance to hear new tracks from 'Pylon' live. The album's full tracklist has also been revealed, featuring songs like "Estranged," "Switchblade," "In Motion," and "Powerlines," alongside the title track "Pylon" and the lead single "Sun Has Set."
