A 43-year-old pre-kindergarten aide in Woodbine is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and related crimes after allegedly abusing multiple children over more than a decade.
A pre-kindergarten teacher’s aide in New Jersey was arrested on Sunday on charges including aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 13 and crimes tied to child pornography. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said the incidents involved multiple victims spanning 2014 to 2025, and investigators are deeply concerned there may be more.
The aide, Shaun M. Stebbins, 43, worked in a preschool class at Woodbine for several years and was once named employee of the year. District social media pages show photos of him have been deleted in recent days.
The investigation began after four students came forward and shared details with authorities. Prosecutors noted they released the arrest information out of an abundance of caution, given that individuals who prey on children often gain trust through their jobs in schools and youth programs. The case underscores the importance of safeguarding young children and the need for thorough investigations when complaints arise.
