Zverev Dominates Khachanov, Secures Spot in US Open Final!

Alexander Zverev is making waves at the U.S. Open, securing his spot in the final after a hard-fought victory against Karen Khachanov. Zverev triumphed 6-3, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (6) in a thrilling semifinal clash on Friday.

This win marks his second Grand Slam final appearance this year, a remarkable feat for the German star.

Zverev is now set to face either No. 8 seed Ben Shelton or No. 11 Frances Tiafoe in Sunday's highly anticipated final. Both American players are vying for their first major final appearance, and the winner will represent the U.S. in the championship match, a goal that Zverev playfully hopes to thwart, stating, “Hopefully I can not make the American dream come true on Sunday.”

Sometimes just things go your way and I feel like I've had a lot of struggles at the major level, I was so close so many times, and maybe this year God has said that this is going to be your year and just enjoy the time on the court.

Zverev became the first top-seeded man to play five-setters in each of the first two rounds of a major, yet he has shown incredible resilience, winning 13 consecutive sets since then. He was particularly solid against Khachanov, maintaining control after winning the first two sets, unlike his memorable 2020 U.S.
