Two hours were anchored by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who led the way through Stephen Schwartz’s score and then veered into a historic finale: a medley of songs made famous by Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland, including a luminous rendition of Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again.
