Sarnath, the revered ancient Buddhist site, has officially been added to the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List, marking a monumental achievement for India's rich cultural legacy. Nestled near the northern Indian city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Sarnath holds immense spiritual and historical importance. It is famously recognized as the sacred ground where Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment, articulating the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) to his five companions.
