Rupert Grint is Back! Ron Weasley Returns to Broadway in "Cursed Child" 🪄
Get ready, Potterheads! Rupert Grint is reprising his iconic role as Ron Weasley on Broadway. Don't miss this magical return to the Wizarding World stage! ✨
Rupert Grint, beloved for his portrayal of Ron Weasley in the "Harry Potter" films, is set to delight fans by reprising his iconic role on Broadway. The 38-year-old actor will step back into the shoes of the loyal, red-headed wizard for a 17-week run of "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" at the Lyric Theatre in New York City. This highly anticipated return will run from February 2 until May 30.
Grint, who rose to global fame at age 11 with "Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone" and starred in all eight film adaptations, shared his excitement about the role. He stated,
Ron Weasley has been a part of me since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to meet him again in this stage of life.
He added that there's something "so special" and "full-circle" about returning to the character now that both he and Ron are fathers, describing the experience as "both very familiar and completely new."
His enthusiasm for being back on Broadway is palpable. "The joy of being back on Broadway, this time in a role that defined so much of my life is truly exciting," Grint expressed. He previously saw "Cursed Child" onstage and was "blown away," eagerly anticipating his return to "Platform nine and three-quarters" with the exceptional cast and crew this winter.
Grint's return follows in the footsteps of his former co-star Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy and also appeared on Broadway.
