CBSE Postpones Class 10-12 Exams in West Asia Amid Iran-Israel Tensions

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the postponement of the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams scheduled for March 2 in the Middle East region, including Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The move comes as the region remains tense amid ongoing international attention on the Iran-Israel conflict. The CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said the new dates would be announced later and that the board would review the situation on March 3 and take appropriate decisions for exams scheduled from March 5 onwards.

The board has also sent communications to principals of CBSE-affiliated schools in the affected countries to inform them of the postponement. Officials emphasised that safety and logistical considerations were the primary drivers behind the decision, noting that conditions in parts of the Middle East could affect travel and examination conduct.
