Assam Passes Landmark UCC Bill: Polygamy Banned and Live-in Rules Set

The Assam Assembly has officially passed the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill, marking a significant shift in the state's legal landscape. This new legislation introduces several major changes, most notably a total ban on polygamy and the introduction of mandatory registration for live-in relationships.
