Tragedy in New Mexico: 3 Dead, 18 Responders Hospitalized in Mysterious Hazmat Incident

A quiet morning in Mountainair, New Mexico, turned into a nightmare this Wednesday when a suspected drug overdose call led to a major hazmat emergency. Authorities report that three people have died and a staggering 18 first responders had to be rushed to the hospital after coming into contact with an unidentified, toxic substance inside a local home.

The situation unfolded around 11:00 a.m. when New Mexico State Police arrived at the scene. Upon entering, they found four people unresponsive. While one person was successfully revived using Narcan—a medication typically used to reverse opioid overdoses—the other three tragically did not survive. However, the danger didn't end there.
