Hanuman Ansh Box Office Sensation Misses Oscar Deadline!

The spiritual biopic "Hanuman Ansh," based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, has emerged as one of the year's biggest surprise blockbusters, raking in an astounding Rs 205-236 crore against a modest budget of just Rs 2 crore. This incredible success story, however, comes with a missed opportunity: the film failed to make it as India's official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the Oscars.

Producer Namrata Singh recently revealed the reason behind this oversight. She explained that their small team was overwhelmed with the film's international release, Telugu dubbing, and various post-release activities, leading them to unknowingly miss the submission deadline. Despite numerous calls from well-wishers, the team simply wasn't aware of the Oscar submission process amidst their packed schedule.

Efforts are also underway to make the film accessible to people with different abilities, further adding to the team's workload.

"Hanuman Ansh" wasn't just a one-off project; it was always conceived as a trilogy. The first installment explored Neem Karoli Baba's early life and his deep connection with Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand. Future plans are even grander.

The second film is set to delve deeper into his life, beginning in his birthplace of Firozabad and then moving to significant locations like Agra and Mathura.

The third and final film aims for a global scope, focusing on Neem Karoli Baba's spiritual influence worldwide, touching upon his connections to international figures like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, and Julia Roberts. Beyond the silver screen, the creators are ambitiously expanding the "Hanuman Ansh" universe.

They are developing a game in collaboration with the company behind FAU-G and are in talks with major publishers for a comic book series.

Despite these exciting future prospects, the team plans to take a much-needed 90-day break.

After an intense year and a half of production and release, they acknowledge the need to "calibrate" and rest before diving into the next chapter of this spiritual saga. The film, released internationally on September 11, is slated for its Telugu debut across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on September 18, 2026.

Its box office journey, which started slowly with just Rs 10 lakh on opening day and stayed in lakhs for two weeks, saw a massive turnaround in its third week, eventually crossing the Rs 2 crore mark on Day 17 and continuing its phenomenal run.
