Randy Quaid Blasts Anne Hathaway for 'Days of Thunder' Sequel: "Woke" & "Horrible"!

The upcoming "Days of Thunder" sequel is already sparking controversy, not from the racetrack, but from one of its original stars. Randy Quaid, who played Tim Daland in the 1990 racing drama, has publicly criticized the casting of Anne Hathaway alongside Tom Cruise, calling her a "horrible choice" and "woke." Quaid took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his strong opinions after Variety exclusively reported Hathaway's involvement.

He emphatically stated, "We need Nicole [Kidman] back. Don't be a pussy, [Tom Cruise]. You need the original girl.

It's not personal; it's filmmaking." Kidman played Dr.

Claire Lewicki, the romantic lead in the original film. His criticism didn't stop there.

Quaid further elaborated on his reasoning, claiming, "Anne isn't sexy, because and if you haven't noticed, she's pregnant." He also added a political slant, calling Hathaway "a leftist, woke, horrible choice for 'DAYS OF THUNDER' NASCAR audience who are MAGA." He believes the "sexy older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole," suggesting it would be the casting that "would sell the idea." Quaid's unexpected remarks also included a jab at the production, saying, "This is a weird thing, like they want it to come out and tank." Paramount has slated the sequel for a June 2028 theatrical release, nearly 40 years after the original, and it's reportedly being shot for Imax.

Representatives for Paramount and Hathaway have not yet responded to these comments.
