An IndiGo Delhi-Bagdogra flight diverted to Lucknow after a handwritten bomb threat found in the toilet prompted a full security sweep.
An IndiGo flight travelling from Delhi to Bagdogra made an emergency landing at Lucknow airport after a bomb threat was reported onboard. The threat appeared as a handwritten note found inside the aircraft's toilet, written on tissue paper. The flight was carrying 238 passengers along with the pilots and crew and was en route from Delhi to Bagdogra when it diverted to Lucknow.
Security personnel moved the aircraft to an isolation bay at Lucknow airport while bomb disposal squads and CISF teams conducted a detailed search. All passengers were safely evacuated and subjected to security checks as officers worked to verify the threat.
Air traffic control received the warning about 8:46 am, and the aircraft landed at 9:17 am. Authorities said the investigation into the threat is ongoing and no device had been found yet. Passengers are being assisted with onward travel arrangements as the airport resumes operations.
Officials emphasised that standard safety procedures were followed and that security checks will continue until authorities are satisfied. The incident underscores the importance of swift action in mid-air security threats.
