He claimed Birla was deeply hurt and that he had spoken to him personally. Rijiju argued that a ruling by the Speaker on speaking permissions was ignored, and he cited Rahul Gandhi's remark that he would speak without anyone's permission.
Responding to Rijiju, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra pushed back, accusing the government over the India-US deal and noting that workers are on strike today, with her party’s support for them. She suggested the trade agreement could hurt farmers and emphasized the broader labour movement behind the protests.
The exchange is part of the ongoing friction between the BJP-led NDA government and the Congress-led Opposition during the Budget Session, with competing narratives over decorum, speaking rights, and how parliamentary disputes should be addressed in the chamber.
