Veteran leader Sharad Pawar, head of the NCP (SP), found himself at the center of controversy after holding a party meeting within Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's office in Mumbai's Vidhan Bhavan complex on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Pawar was originally at the State legislature to attend a high-powered committee meeting concerning the long-standing Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute.
