In Chennai, at the DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi founder Thol. Thirumavalavan announced that negotiations with the DMK to identify eight constituencies for his party had been completed smoothly. He described the process as smooth and said he was happy after signing the agreement, with the list to be made public the next day.
Thirumavalavan said eight constituencies have been allotted to the VCK, including two general seats, and the final list would be announced tomorrow. He noted that there are more than ten parties in the alliance and that, while every party sought seats, there was no stalemate in the negotiations. The coalition has navigated competing demands without a breakdown in talks, he indicated, underscoring the alliance’s commitment to a cooperative approach ahead of the elections.
He also addressed critics who argued that the alliance should concede more seats to other partners, explaining that while there are competitive demands, there were no grounds to worry about the DMK allocating more seats to a non recognised party (DMDK) than to a recognised party (VCK). The message from the leadership stressed continuity of talks and a collective path forward, even as seat-sharing remains a dynamic, negotiable process within a multi-party coalition that claims more than ten partners.
