Varanasi lies at the heart of the project, the producers explained, so starting the release conversation from the city itself felt instinctive. The plan ties the release to a festive window—Ugadi and Gudi Padwa—and extends through the weekend, followed by Ambedkar Jayanti and Rama Navami, creating a strong theatrical run.
Fans flooded social media with excitement after the date was announced, with some calling it "bigger than Baahubali" and others posting countdowns and wishes for the team.
Earlier, the first look of Varanasi was unveiled at a grand event, hinting at a time-travel narrative by showing Antarctica, Varanasi, and Kenya across periods like 512 CE, 2027 CE, and the Treta Yuga, with Mahesh Babu seen charging forward on a bull.
The project is produced under Sri Durga Arts. The marketing campaign kicked off with cryptic on-ground installations in the film’s titular city, signaling a sweeping launch plan for what many expect to be one of 2027’s major international releases.
