Stalin slams TN Governor over address, defends DMK record

Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin used a sharp, pointed attack in the state assembly, accusing governor RN Ravi of undermining constitutional conventions by refusing to read his customary address. He argued that the governor's decision was not just a procedural snub but a challenge to the democratic mandate of the DMK government, which he said had delivered on welfare and governance for the people. Stalin asserted the Dravidian model government was not inferior to anyone in patriotism and called for strict adherence to constitutional norms.
Stalin added that he has faced more challenges than any previous leaders including Anna, Kalaignar, and Jayalalithaa, from the Governor, and he expressed distress over the Governor's attitude, which he said was detrimental to governance.
The Governor RN Ravi, whose decision to skip reading the customary address drew the DMK's ire, has sparked questions about the roles and duties of the governor. Stalin stated he was pained by the attitude and called for stronger respect for constitutional conventions.
The DMK government emphasised progress under the Dravidian model, highlighting welfare schemes, education, healthcare, and economic growth they claim.
