A charming tribute is stepping onto the shelves as Steiff unveils a limited-edition teddy bear created to mark what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday. The scene mirrors the beloved Platinum Jubilee moment when the Queen shared tea with a digitally animated Paddington Bear, a moment that has stayed in the public memory for its warmth and wit.
For the recreation, a soft Paddington is posed at tea with a special edition Queen Elizabeth II Steiff teddy bear. The Queen bear wears one of Her Majesty’s most recognizable outfits: a lime green coat with a matching hat, complemented by a pearl necklace and handbag. The setting is Newby Hall, the backdrop for this nostalgic homage and a nod to the royal moment fans cherished in the years since.
The commemorative bears are strictly limited to 4,996 pieces — a playful nod to the late Queen’s 96 years of life — and are priced at £289 each, individually numbered and presented in a souvenir bag. Embroidered details on the soles of the bears’ feet mark the centenary of her birth, turning a collectible into a small piece of living history. Ian Munro, Steiff’s director of international sales, says the project honors what Her Majesty represented: dedication, pride, service, and a special place in the hearts of people across the country. He added that the collaboration with Galerista aims to celebrate this moment with a superb keepsake for fans and collectors alike.
