IIIT-Bangalore Student Lands ₹1.5 Cr Package, 316 Graduates Celebrate!

Bangalore witnessed a moment of immense pride and celebration as the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) held its 26th convocation ceremony. A total of 316 students graduated, marking significant milestones for the institution and its bright minds. The event was particularly highlighted by an Integrated M.Tech. student securing an astounding placement package of ₹1.5 crore, showcasing the exceptional talent fostered at IIIT-B.

This year's convocation also celebrated other remarkable achievements in placements. Two other students successfully secured packages of ₹1.3 crore each, further solidifying IIIT-B's reputation for attracting top-tier opportunities. Beyond these headline figures, a strong performance was noted across the board: over 22 students bagged annual salary packages exceeding ₹60 lakh, 27 students received offers between ₹40-60 lakh, and more than 110 students were offered packages above ₹20 lakh per annum. The graduating batch comprised 95 Integrated M.Tech., 175 M.Tech., 32 M.S. by Research, and 14 PhD scholars, including the institute's 100th PhD graduate.

Addressing the graduates, Director Dr. Debabrata Das urged them to embrace lifelong learning and commit to responsible innovation. He proudly highlighted IIIT-B's pioneering efforts, including the establishment of India's first Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Division in academia. Dr. Das also referenced Tele-MANAS, a national tele-mental health platform developed by the institute, which has successfully handled over 40 lakh calls, making a tangible difference in people's lives.

Chief Guest Professor Rajat Moona of the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar, emphasized the rapid pace of technological change in the AI-driven era. He advised graduates to be agile and ready for continuous transformations that AI brings. "Even as you are graduating, you probably would have seen the series of transformations that have been brought by AI. Such transformations will continue and one must be ready for it," he stated, encouraging adaptability.

The ceremony also recognized academic excellence with several awards. Singuru Manognya received the IIITB Gold Medal for MTech, while Subhajeet Lahiri was awarded the Institute Gold Medal for Integrated MTech and the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Scholarship. Ketaki Srikrishna Tamhanakar also received the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Scholarship, and Siddharth Kothari was honored with both the Sitaram Jindal Gold Medal and the Late Sri N. Memorial Award. These accolades underscore the institute's commitment to nurturing outstanding talent.

IIIT-B celebrated another significant milestone, crossing the 5,000-alumni mark, a testament to its enduring legacy and growing impact in the technology sector. The convocation was not just a celebration of individual achievements but also a reaffirmation of the institute's role in shaping the future of technology and innovation.
