In the Medak district of Telangana, Congress leader Marelli Anil was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances. After a police investigation found that Anil had bullet wounds on his body, it is thought that some unknown criminals shot and killed the district Scheduled Caste Cell Secretary.
According to reports, Anil, a resident of Paitara village, was on his way home from Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad when the incident occurred. At first, it was thought that he had died in a car accident, but when more investigation showed that he had been shot, police opened an investigation. On Sunday, his body was discovered close to the Variguntam substation in Kolcharam Mandal.
According to police, the Congress leader's right shoulder was pierced by two bullets. His hands and back were also injured. When bullet casings were also found at the scene, raising the possibility of murder, the accident theory did not seem to hold water.

Telangana Today reported that police believe the leader would have been killed as a result of a real estate business dispute. But according to his family, Anil had no animosity toward anyone.
