Influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska dies six days after Soho crash

A social media influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska, 32, from Essex, has died in hospital days after a collision outside a central London nightclub. The incident occurred on Argyll Street in Soho at about 4:30am on 19 April, when she was hit by a car that also struck other pedestrians. She died on Saturday, the police confirmed. The driver at the center of the case, Gabrielle Carrington, 29, of Manchester, was previously charged with attempted murder in connection with the crash. Following Zakrzewska’s death, prosecutors amended the charge to murder. Carrington appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 21 April and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on 19 May. She is also facing other charges including grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and drink driving.

Zakrzewska, known to many online as Klaudiaglam and with a following surpassing 365,000 on Instagram, had built a reputation around lifestyle and beauty content. The broader incident also left a 58-year-old man with life-changing injuries and another woman with a minor wrist injury. Police have urged the public to refrain from speculation as inquiries continue and the investigation progresses through legal proceedings.

A fundraiser launched in Zakrzewska’s mother’s name described the 32-year-old as having a “pure heart” and highlighted the impact of her loss on family and friends. The case has drawn attention on social media to issues of nightlife safety in central London, prompting discussions about how such incidents are reported and investigated. Authorities said they will provide updates as the case develops, prioritizing transparency while respecting due process.
