Singapore debut of Disney Adventure Faces Delay
Disney Cruise Line pushes Disney Adventure's Singapore debut to March 10 after shipyard delays, with automatic 50% fare off on the maiden voyage and a 50% future cruise credit if you can't sail.
The debut date of Disney Cruise Line's 208,000-gt Disney Adventure in Singapore has been rescheduled from December 15 to March 10. This affects cruises that were supposed to leave until March 12.
“As we work on the final touches to bring the Disney Adventure to our guests, we’ve encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process,” said Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences. “To ensure the experience we deliver reflects our commitment to excellence, we’ve made the decision to adjust our timeline. We know this may be disappointing to our guests, and we’re working directly with them to offer flexible rebooking options and uphold the trust they place in us.”
First Sailing Auto Rebooked
Passengers on the maiden voyage will automatically be rebooked to the new, inaugural cruise on March 10 at a 50% fare reduction. If the new date cannot be accommodated, those who book before March 31, 2026, will receive a 50% future cruise credit that can be used on any Disney cruise leaving by March 31, 2027.
Those who board the other cruises between December 18 and March 12 will receive a 50% future cruise credit in addition to an automatic refund.
Under the guidance of the Meyer Group, the newbuild, which was first commissioned as Global Dream, has been undergoing a major transformation and is currently finishing at the former MV Werften in Wismar. It will be smaller than the Genting Hong Kong design, with seven neighborhoods and a capacity of over 7,000 passengers.
Rising Demand
Bob Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, has referred to Adventure as a "floating ambassador for the Disney brand" and said that reservations are "extremely robust," with the first two quarters of operation selling out very, very quickly." Disney Cruise Line would have debuted two new ships in 2025. Only Disney Destiny will be joining this year, as Disney Adventure has been postponed until 2026.
The third Wish-class newbuild, weighing 144,000 gt, is almost finished at Meyer Werft and is expected to start operating from Port Everglades on November 20. Last month, Disney Destiny floated out in Papenburg.
