Footage verified by the BBC appears to show the moment an F-15 fighter jet falls from the sky and crashes to the ground near Kuwait City, filmed from the west of the city, on the edge of the Al Jahra area. US Central Command later confirmed that three US F-15 jets went down in an apparent friendly-fire incident, with all six crew ejecting safely and in stable condition.
The crash comes as tensions in the region have been high following the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader, with Iran's state media claiming the jet was shot down—a claim that has not yet been independently confirmed.
Kuwaiti authorities said the pilots were handed over after ejecting, and officials said the crews remained in stable condition. The exact cause of the crash has not been determined and the incident is under investigation.
