Barry Manilow's Vegas Comeback Hits Snag: Bronchitis Strikes!
Barry Manilow's highly anticipated Las Vegas residency faces a setback as bronchitis forces him to cancel shows after a triumphant return from cancer treatment. Get the full story!
Barry Manilow's highly anticipated return to the Las Vegas stage has been met with an unexpected setback. After a triumphant comeback concert on Thursday, the beloved singer was forced to cut short his Friday performance and cancel his Saturday show at the Westgate residency due to a bout of bronchitis.
This unfortunate turn of events comes after Manilow's recent recovery from lung cancer. His Las Vegas residency, initially postponed multiple times from May 2026 to October 2026, finally saw him return to the stage. Last December, Manilow revealed he had undergone surgery to remove a "cancerous spot" from his lung.
He had successfully completed "The Last Concerts" farewell tour over the summer, indicating good health leading up to his Vegas return.
Manilow's representatives confirmed the cancellations, stating,
After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows.
The singer is currently scheduled to perform again on October 15, 16, and 17 as part of his residency, which runs through April 2027.
Interestingly, it was a severe bout of bronchitis in late 2025 that ultimately led to the discovery of his stage 1 lung cancer. Manilow had explained,
As many of you know I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks.
Although he had recovered from the bronchitis and was back on stage, his doctor ordered an MRI, which revealed the cancerous spot. He considered himself lucky it was found so early.
Fans and well-wishers are now hoping for a swift recovery so Manilow can fully resume his long-awaited Las Vegas performances.
