Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black' Turns 20! Deluxe Reissue Unveils Lost Gems

Fans of the legendary Amy Winehouse have reason to celebrate as her groundbreaking album, 'Back to Black', approaches its 20th anniversary. To mark this significant milestone, a deluxe reissue is set to drop on October 23, just days before the original album's release date of October 27, 2006. This special edition promises a treasure trove of unearthed material for her devoted audience.

The centrepiece of this commemorative release is a luxurious 3LP clear vinyl edition and a matching 3CD set. These formats will bring together the original album tracks alongside four previously unreleased demos and a collection of rare B-sides.

But perhaps the most exciting addition is a third disc featuring a complete, never-before-heard live performance from Paradiso, Amsterdam.

This particular show was recorded on February 8, 2007, during the original 'Back to Black' touring cycle and has never been released in its entirety on vinyl or streaming platforms until now. Beyond the audio treats, the reissue also boasts new alternative cover artwork, adding a fresh visual appeal. Fans will also get an intimate glimpse into the creative process with a handwritten lyric sheet sourced from producer Mark Ronson's personal archive.

Complementing these are previously unseen photographs by original album photographers Mischa Richter and Alex Lake, offering new perspectives on Amy during that pivotal period. New liner notes from both Mark Ronson and fellow producer Salaam Remi, who collaboratively worked on the original record, will also feature across the various formats. For collectors and enthusiasts, UMR/Island isn't stopping there.

They are also releasing limited-edition standalone pressings of the original album. These include a striking 1LP "Chalkboard Marble" colour vinyl and a webstore-exclusive 1LP zoetrope edition, which ingeniously plays footage of Winehouse when spun, creating a unique visual experience.

Upon its initial release, it debuted at No. 3 in the UK before swiftly climbing to No. 1 on the Albums Chart, ultimately becoming the best-selling album of 2007.
