GTA 6 Delayed Again to November 2026, Rockstar Promises Polish
GTA 6 is pushed to November 19, 2026 as Rockstar emphasizes polish, with Take-Two noting layoffs at the UK studio are unrelated.
Fans hoping to explore Vice City again will have to wait a bit longer. Rockstar Games has officially pushed Grand Theft Auto VI to November 19, 2026, moving from an earlier target of 2025. The announcement came during Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly earnings report, marking the second major delay for the highly anticipated open-world title. The game has spent more than a decade in development, cementing its status as one of the most awaited releases in modern entertainment.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reassured investors that the company remains excited and confident they will deliver an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience. He noted that the studio needs a limited amount of additional time for polish to meet the high standards fans expect. Rockstar also posted on social media that the extra months will allow them to finish the game with the level of polish players have come to deserve.
The delay follows recent layoffs at Rockstar’s U.K. studio, though Take-Two stressed that the two matters are entirely separate and that the terminations involved violations of company policies. Despite the setback, anticipation remains sky-high, with fans eager for a faithful return to Vice City and a new inland setting called Leonida.
Rockstar has not provided any new window beyond the November date, leaving players counting down. As with prior delays, the company expressed regret for the wait but promised a richer, more polished experience that will justify the anticipation.
