Man arrested near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Norfolk home

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence after an incident near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s home in the village of Wolferton, close to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, at about 19:30 on Wednesday. A balaclava-clad man allegedly ran towards the former prince as he walked his dogs, prompting his private security to rush him into a vehicle and drive away as the suspect appeared to pursue them.

Norfolk Police said the suspect was taken to King's Lynn for questioning and remains in custody. The arrest took place near Marsh Farm, the Sandringham Estate property where Mountbatten-Windsor moved after stepping back from Royal Lodge in Windsor due to his association with the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. The King had stripped him of the title prince and dukedom last year over his links to Epstein, and Buckingham Palace declined to comment. Mountbatten-Windsor’s security arrangements are handled privately, with the King providing a private lump-sum allowance to cover living expenses including private security protection.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and no further details were released at this time. The incident has drawn attention because of its proximity to a royal residence, but officials urged calm and said public safety remains the priority.
