The Kyiv region faced a terrifying night as Russia launched one of its most intense bombardments yet, deploying hundreds of drones and high-speed missiles. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky didn't hold back in his response, calling the Russian leadership unhinged and noting that the strikes hit ordinary places like markets and schools.

The scale of the damage is still being assessed, with military administrators recording destruction at 40 different locations across the capital's districts.
