Campus Package? Nah. 21-Year-Old Rakes in More Money on X
A 21-year-old on X says frequent posting now earns more than a campus job, with ₹32,000 monthly through five installments. Let's see how creator monetization and impressions work.
A social media user recently stated that simply by posting frequently on X (formerly Twitter), he was able to earn about ₹32,000 per month. Engineer Kanav, 21, claimed that posting frequently on the platform earns him more money than the typical campus placement. The user wrote,
"Posting on X is already paying me more than average tier 3 campus placement, and I literally only started 2 months ago."

The sum was paid in five installments, with ₹8,115 being the smallest and ₹21,097 being the largest one-time payment. In response to his post, he provided context by sharing the average campus placement offer from his college without mentioning the source of his data.

Eligible creators can receive ad revenue from replies based on verified impressions and engagement through the platform's creator monetization program. Over 28M impressions can generate more than ₹67,000 over months for high-engagement accounts, with rates ranging from $0.008 to $0.01 per 1,000 impressions.
Netizens quickly supported the user after the post went viral, stating that there hasn't been much of an increase in recent years and that campus placements in India are extremely poor.
Can you share some insight buddy. Few short pointers what is or was your process to reach here, what did you do in last 2 months?

"Average tier 3 placement is not 1 lac," a user said.
To this, the original poster replied that he makes ₹3.6 per annum.

"Wow, And one of the textbook ways of getting reach is by complaining how bad the t3 college placements are," yet another user commented.

This story highlights how digital platforms are reshaping career choices for young Indians. With content creation becoming a serious source of income, many students are exploring parallel paths instead of relying solely on traditional jobs.
As the internet economy grows, more such success stories are expected to emerge, further blurring the line between mainstream careers and creator-led opportunities.
