The package contained what appeared to be an innocuous collection of items: a chrome vacuum flask, a pair of marker pens, a power bank, and a bottle of antifreeze fluid. However, security personnel, already on high alert due to a series of suspected Russian-orchestrated sabotage acts in Poland and Lithuania—including a shopping mall fire in Warsaw and an Ikea blaze—called in authorities.
Upon inspection with sniffer dogs and specialized equipment, x-rays revealed 1980s Soviet-produced detonators hidden within the marker pens. The flask had a false bottom containing metallic powder, and the power bank showed signs of tampering. A probe of the liquid in the bottle confirmed it was a highly volatile nitroglycerine solution. Experts quickly concluded that with the right knowledge, these items could be assembled into a powerful bomb.
Following the discovery, Rogov was arrested.
