Tamil Nadu tops ICSE/ISC 2026 with 99.9% pass rate; girls lead
Tamil Nadu records a near-perfect 99.9% pass rate in ICSE and ISC 2026, with girls outperforming boys as results are announced.
CISCE announced the results for the Class 10 ICSE and Class 12 ISC exams on April 30 at 11 a.m., and Tamil Nadu posted a near-perfect overall pass rate of 99.9%. The state’s performance adds to a season of strong results across the board, with girls continuing to outperform boys in many subjects.
In the ISC (Class XII) examinations, 5,835 Scheduled Caste candidates achieved a pass percentage of 98.77%, and 3,786 Scheduled Tribe candidates recorded 98.84%. Among 19,191 Other Backward Classes candidates, the pass percentage stood at 99.12%, while 74,504 General Category candidates achieved a pass percentage of 99.17%.
Similarly, in the ICSE (Class X) examinations, 17,536 Scheduled Caste candidates appeared, achieving a pass percentage of 98.76%, while 9,466 Scheduled Tribe candidates recorded a pass percentage of 98.07%. A total of 64,825 candidates from Other Backward Classes achieved a pass percentage of 99.24%, and 166,894 General Category candidates recorded a pass percentage of 99.26%.
The results come as many students in Tamil Nadu and across the country celebrate strong performances, with girls showing higher pass rates in several categories. Students can download their scorecards from the official CISCE websites and follow the standard steps to access their results.
As results season continues, educators and families are hopeful that the high pass rates reflect sustained efforts in schools, supportive learning environments, and effective examination preparation.
