He also noted he’s grateful for the love from fans but is focused on new creative work and music that reflects where he is today.
Rumors began after Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain suggested in an interview that Perry might be thinking about a reunion. Cain said Neal Schon had asked him about it and that Perry hasn’t said no, leaving fans hopeful. The context: Perry’s tenure with Journey produced many of the band’s biggest hits, though his first album with the group came in 1977 and he left during the late ’80s era.
Journey is currently wrapping up a farewell tour, which is scheduled to kick off on Feb. 28, and the band has continued to perform with Arnel Pineda as their frontman.
