Air India AI 2732, bound for Coimbatore, was backing away for departure when IndiGo 6E 791, which had just landed from Hyderabad, was taxiing after arrival. The contact damaged the Air India's wingtip, but no injuries were reported as passengers remained on board.
Air India said AI2732 was delayed and grounded for technical checks, while IndiGo confirmed its aircraft is undergoing maintenance inspection. Ground teams arranged alternative travel options for affected passengers as a precaution.
Authorities from the DGCA arrived on site to investigate the incident, and both airlines stressed that safety remains the top priority as the probe continues.
