5G Fury: Villagers Tie Technician to Tower Over Network Outage!
Chaos in Fatehpur! Frustrated villagers took drastic action, tying a telecom technician to a tower over two years of poor 5G service. Six arrested, but the internet struggle is real! #5GProblems
In a dramatic escalation of frustration over persistent 5G network issues, villagers in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district resorted to an unusual protest, tying a telecom technician to a mobile tower. The incident, which unfolded on Thursday in Hardauli village, Bindki area, saw residents demand an immediate resolution to their long-standing connectivity woes. Police have since rescued the technician and arrested six individuals involved.
The technician, identified as Aditya Bhan Singh, had reportedly visited the village to address a mobile network complaint.
However, he found himself surrounded by angry residents who, after allegedly detaining him, tied him to the tower.
A video purportedly showing Mr.
Singh tied up, with villagers demanding company officials intervene, quickly circulated on social media, drawing widespread attention to the bizarre incident.
Superintendent of Police (Fatehpur) Abhimanyu Manglik confirmed that villagers claimed to have suffered from poor mobile connectivity, particularly for 5G services, for nearly two years. Despite the presence of a private telecom tower, residents reported frequent network unavailability, even with a stable electricity supply. This severely impacted their ability to make calls and access the internet, leading to growing discontent.
Adding to their frustration, villagers stated they had been paying for 5G services without receiving any significant improvement in connectivity. The viral video reportedly captured a villager stating that Mr. Singh would not be released until senior company officials arrived to address the grave problem.
Following Mr. Singh's complaint, police registered an FIR against unidentified villagers on Friday and subsequently arrested Rahul Patel, Suraj Yadav, Alok Patel, Yogendra Patel, Alok Yadav, and Sachin Patel.
All six individuals were produced before a magistrate and later released on bail.
The Superintendent of Police confirmed that the investigation into the incident is currently underway. This incident highlights the intense frustration that can arise in communities facing inadequate essential services, even in the digital age.
