The girls, who had been with their mothers and father in the home, reportedly locked themselves in the puja room, used a chair to jump out, and died on the spot. Neighbors and guards woke to the sound of the fall and authorities began investigations.
Investigators described the case as rooted in an intense obsession with a Korean task-based online game. The girls are said to have believed they were Koreans and even posed as Korean princesses while playing. A 'sorry' note and what was described as a crying caricature were found among their belongings.
Police will examine the girls' mobile phones and game data to identify the exact game involved and the circumstances around their behavior. Early reports link the online gaming activity to the tragedy, though investigators have not yet established a definitive cause. The incident occurred in Ghaziabad's Loni locality.
Family details show the eldest sister was born to the father's first wife and the younger two to his second wife, with the father described as a forex trader.
