Radikaa Slams Media 'Circus' at Bhagyaraj Funeral, Demands Action!

Veteran actor Radikaa Sarathkumar has strongly criticized the media for its intrusive behavior during the mourning period for her late close friend and acclaimed actor-writer-director, K. Bhagyaraj. She described the solemn occasion as being turned into a "circus" by media personnel, who often mob premises and invade the privacy of grieving families and guests.

Radikaa expressed her dismay on her X (formerly Twitter) handle, where she had earlier penned an emotional farewell to Bhagyaraj. She questioned the media's "callousness," stating, "A place where all needed to digress and mourn in silence, turned into a circus, for all who came to pay their respects. Where and when do we change or rather changed to this callousness." Visuals from the event reportedly showed Radikaa visibly annoyed, pleading with reporters to respect the family's privacy.

In response to the distressing scenes, Radikaa has appealed to several key organizations to take decisive action. She specifically called upon the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Film Producers Council, the Nadigar Sangam, FEFSI, and the Press Council of India to establish clear protocols to prevent such invasions of privacy in the future. "The government and industry need to sit and chart protocols and collective management, and give all dignity to the departed soul," she wrote.

Further emphasizing her point, Radikaa also tweeted about the necessity of a "restraining order" at funeral venues, highlighting the severity of the problem. This incident underscores a long-standing debate about media ethics and the right to privacy, especially during sensitive moments like funerals, where the focus should be on paying respects rather than seeking sensational visuals.
