The family stated via Hilton's official website that he is currently hospitalized under Florida's Baker Act, a law that allows for involuntary examination for mental health purposes. They noted, "Perez’s condition remains serious but stable. He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days. His treatment and recovery will be a long process." They expressed gratitude that Hilton was able to spend time with his mother and sister recently.
In their statement, Hilton's family also addressed what they termed "false and inaccurate reports circulating in the media regarding Perez and the circumstances surrounding this situation."
