Bengal’s Big Move: 35 New Ministers to Join Suvendu Adhikari’s Cabinet Today!
West Bengal is set for a major political shift as CM Suvendu Adhikari expands his cabinet today. 35 new ministers will take the oath, signaling a new era for the state.
West Bengal is entering a new chapter today as Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari expands his cabinet to full strength. In a significant ceremony scheduled for 11 AM at the Lok Bhawan, 35 new ministers will be sworn in by Governor RN Ravi. This expansion follows the BJP's recent electoral success and aims to finalize the state’s executive council and initiate full-fledged governance.
Chief Minister Adhikari, who took his own oath earlier this month at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, shared the news on social media, emphasizing that the state's nationalist government will now be fully operational. The new lineup is expected to include a mix of experienced leaders and professionals. Prominent names like Shankar Ghosh, Tapas Roy, and former Rajya Sabha members Swapan Dasgupta and Rupa Ganguly are likely to be among those taking the oath, along with former Lok Sabha member Arjun Singh.
A notable shift in this new administration is the focus on departmental expertise. Unlike the previous government where the Chief Minister held multiple portfolios, the BJP leadership has indicated a different approach. For instance, the health department is expected to be led by an efficient doctor to salvage it from past issues. Already, ministers like Agnimitra Paul have been tasked with urban development, while Dilip Ghosh is handling panchayat and rural development.
With this expansion, the cabinet's total strength will rise to 41. The party appears to be balancing seniority with regional and community representation to ensure a broad reach across the state. As the ceremony begins at 11 AM, all eyes are on the newly appointed team as they prepare to take charge and begin their governance journey in West Bengal.
