Coming into the tournament with renewed confidence after ending a long title drought at the Japan Open, Sindhu showcased her fighting spirit from the start. She dominated the opening game, particularly with a strong comeback from 7-13 down to level at 16-16, eventually taking it 21-16 with five consecutive points.
The second game proved to be the turning point and the most dramatic. Sindhu appeared poised to close out the match, reaching 20-16 and holding four match points.
