Ajay Devgn's latest comedy, "Dhamaal 4," has ignited the box office, delivering a spectacular opening weekend and emerging as the biggest opener in the history of the popular franchise. The Indra Kumar directorial is now incredibly close to hitting the coveted ₹100 crore worldwide gross milestone, needing just ₹8 crore more.
The film's success is fueled by strong word-of-mouth and impressive growth throughout the weekend. "Dhamaal 4" raked in ₹14 crore net on Friday, followed by a significant jump to ₹22.5 crore on Saturday, and a massive ₹28.5 crore on Sunday. This brought its opening weekend India net total to a staggering ₹65 crore.
In terms of gross collections, the film earned ₹16.8 crore on Friday, ₹27 crore on Saturday, and ₹34.2 crore on Sunday, accumulating an India gross collection of ₹78 crore after just three days. Beyond domestic borders, "Dhamaal 4" also made a strong impact internationally, pulling in ₹14 crore overseas. This combined domestic and international performance propelled its worldwide gross collection to an impressive ₹92 crore by the end of its opening weekend.
With just a small margin to cover, "Dhamaal 4" is widely expected to cross the ₹100 crore worldwide mark very early in its first week, cementing its blockbuster status. The film showcased strong nationwide appeal, with major urban centers reporting healthy footfalls. On Sunday, Mumbai led the charge with a remarkable 55.5% occupancy across 868 shows, closely followed by Ahmedabad at 55%. Other key cities like Pune (47.8%), Bengaluru (46.3%), NCR (45%), and Surat (43.8%) also contributed significantly to its success.
"Dhamaal 4" has comfortably outshone other releases, notably outperforming Alia Bhatt's "Alpha" in its initial theatrical run. While "Dhamaal 4" amassed ₹65 crore net in India and ₹92 crore worldwide in just three days, "Alpha" had earned ₹37.85 crore net in India and ₹63.64 crore worldwide after four days, including Monday. These figures clearly indicate the stronger early momentum built by the Ajay Devgn-led comedy, positioning it for a formidable run at the global box office.
