Mass dog killings have rocked the state of Telangana. Authorities have launched an investigation after hundreds of stray dogs were killed in at least six villages in the past few weeks. According to police, at least 354 killings have been confirmed so far, and nine people have been arrested in connection with some of the cases. Some reports claim the number could be as high as 900, underscoring the scale of what activists are calling a dog massacre. The latest incident came to light from Pegadapally village in Jagtial district, about 200 kilometers from Hyderabad, after nearly 300 carcasses were found. The districts affected include Kamareddy, Jagtial, Hanumakonda and Ranga Reddy.
