Spurs Drama! Richarlison & 2 More Players Want Out, De Zerbi Confirms

Tottenham Hotspur is facing significant internal challenges as manager Roberto De Zerbi has publicly revealed that three key players, including star forward Richarlison, have expressed their desire to leave the club. This candid admission comes on the heels of a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United, a match Richarlison was notably absent from, having also missed the previous weekend's 3-0 loss to Brentford.

According to De Zerbi, Richarlison has stated "too many times" that he wants to depart.

He also named defender Kevin Danso and midfielder Pape Matar Sarr as other wantaway players.

Sarr, who also suffered a minor injury, is reportedly close to returning to training but shares the same sentiment about leaving.

De Zerbi, while expressing his affection for the players, made it clear that any departures would require an "economic solution" for the club. "I love these players and these are great guys. I have very good relationships.

But if they want to leave they have to bring the economic solution to the club and they can go, and we'll find other players," he stated.

This news arrives amidst a summer transfer window where Spurs have already invested around £300 million to bolster their squad, aiming to recover from a dismal 17th-placed finish last season. The club is still actively seeking new additions before the transfer deadline, though they appear set to miss out on key target Cody Gakpo, the Liverpool and Netherlands winger, who is reportedly close to an £85 million move to Manchester City.

Despite the turbulent start and player unrest, De Zerbi remains optimistic. He contrasted his current feelings with his positive outlook last season when he took charge with the team in the Championship. "I have no doubt it's not like this.

I can't change my opinion after two defeats. I have a big, big confidence in the qualities of my players,

he affirmed, while also acknowledging that the club, despite building a great squad, might not be

ready yet" for various reasons.
