PM Modi to launch Navi Mumbai Airport as NMIA goes live on Flightradar

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open the first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport, which was constructed for Rs 19,650 crore. The eagerly anticipated airport is now operational on Flightradar, a live flight tracker. The tracker does not currently have information on the flights' arrival and departure times, though. Additionally, the prime minister will tour the recently constructed airport.

The Navi Mumbai Airport, constructed using the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, is also the largest greenfield airport project in India. To reduce congestion, it will cooperate with the extremely crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). Mumbai joins the league of international multi-airport systems with the addition of Navi Mumbai and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj airports.

PM Modi will also speak at a public event and launch a number of other projects in Mumbai. In addition to launching Mumbai One, India's first integrated common mobility app for 11 public transport operators, he will officially unveil the last phase of Mumbai Metro Line-3 during his two-day visit to Maharashtra beginning Wednesday.

The construction of Phase 2B of the Mumbai Metro Line-3, which connects Acharya Atre Chowk and Cuffe Parade, cost Rs 12,200 crore. PM Modi will dedicate the entire Rs 37,270 crore Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) to the country.

Benefits like integrated mobile ticketing across several public transportation providers will be made available to commuters through the Mumbai One app. Additionally, PM Modi will launch Maharashtra's Department of Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation's Short-Term Employability Program (STEP). 150 Government Technical High Schools and 400 Government ITIs will participate in the program. It seeks to increase employability by coordinating skill development with industry demands.

Before the Prime Minister's visit, security has been stepped up. A senior official stated that in addition to local police, members of the Special Protection Group (SPG), Special Protection Unit (SPU), Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), and traffic police have been sent in.
