Rs 30 Lakh NEET Paper Leak Traced From Gurugram Across Six States
Investigators map a multi-state chain that leaked NEET UG 2026 paper weeks before the exam, revealing a doctor, coaching networks, and hundreds of students.
In a case capturing widespread scrutiny of NEET-UG 2026, two brothers from Rajasthan's Jamwa Ramgarh allegedly walked away from a Gurugram transaction with this year's medical entrance paper, paying Rs 30 lakh. The seller is a doctor at the center of a CBI probe.
After the purchase, the paper circulated within their family—one member passed it to his son, who was preparing for NEET in Sikar. Three days later, the brothers allegedly began selling it to others. They then handed the material to a counselling agent in Sikar, who bought it for Rs 30,000 and sold it to a student from Sikar pursuing MBBS in Kerala.
The day before the exam, that student forwarded the paper to his father, a PG hostel operator in Sikar, who circulated it among hostel girls. The match of questions after the exam drew investigators' attention and flagged a wider leak.
Investigators are now focusing on the Gurugram doctor as a pivotal link, with sources suggesting the paper may have originated at a Nashik printing press before reaching the doctor. A multi-state network extends across Maharashtra, Kerala, Haryana, Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, affecting more than 700 students.
The incident has sparked retest orders from the National Testing Agency and renewed calls for reforms in exam security and crisis management to prevent repeats in the future.
