PM Modi's Swadeshi Call: Curb Foreign Trips, Gold Purchases!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the nation from Bishkek, has made a resounding call for 'swadeshi' and self-reliance, urging citizens to reconsider their spending habits on non-essential foreign luxury goods and services. He specifically appealed to Indians to avoid foreign leisure trips and destination weddings, and to refrain from unnecessary gold purchases, linking these actions directly to India's economic growth and future prosperity. “Foreign trips, if you are going for leisure, you should not go.

Highlighting India's robust economic performance, PM Modi noted the country's impressive 7.8% growth despite global uncertainties, wars, crises, and disruptions to supply chains. He also took a veiled swipe at critics, describing some within the country as being “drowned in an atmosphere of despair” and spreading “jhooth ki goonj” (echo of lies). This phrase appeared to be a subtle reference to recent political campaigns by opposition leaders.

He stressed the importance of maintaining this growth trajectory, overcoming challenges posed by negative narratives. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the hard work and collective efforts of today would fulfill the dreams of the younger generation.

He called upon all citizens to continue contributing to the nation's progress, assuring that the government's policies and intentions are clear and righteous.
