Venice Film Festival 2026 Kicks Off: Glamour, Legends & Red Carpet Style!

The 2026 Venice Film Festival has officially begun, and it kicked off with a truly cinematic entrance that set the tone for the star-studded event. George and Amal Clooney arrived in quintessential Venice style, tearing across the lagoon in a water taxi. Joining Clooney in receiving the same esteemed honor is the legendary Ellen Burstyn, at 93 years young.

Burstyn is not only being celebrated for her incredible career but is also appearing in two highly anticipated films at the festival: Kornél Mundruczó's “Place to Be” and Maggie Gyllenhaal's Marilyn Monroe biopic, “Flesh Impact.” Film enthusiasts have much to look forward to beyond the honorees. The festival boasts a compelling lineup of releases, including Martin McDonagh's Oscar-tipped black comedy “Wild Horse Nine,” Lance Oppenheim's “Primetime”, a Robert Pattinson-led portrait of “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen, and Florian Zeller's marital drama “Bunker,” starring the powerhouse duo Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem.

Of course, no Venice Film Festival is complete without its dazzling red carpet fashion, and this year promises to be no different.
