Telangana Minister's Daughter Dares CM: "Who is he to decide my ticket?"

A significant internal rift has erupted within the Telangana Congress, brought to the forefront by Konda Sushmita, daughter of senior minister Konda Surekha. Sushmita has publicly challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the party's choice of candidate for the Parkal Assembly constituency, igniting a political firestorm.

Speaking in Parkal, Sushmita directly questioned the Chief Minister's authority to decide her candidature, reportedly stating, “Whether you, your father, or your grandfather come, I will be the MLA of Parkal.” She further demanded, “Who is Revanth to decide my ticket?” This bold challenge comes after Revanth Reddy publicly backed sitting MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy for the Parkal seat, urging voters to support him in the upcoming elections. Sushmita, who aspires for a Congress ticket from Parkal, has declared her readiness to contest as an independent if the party denies her a nomination.

The dispute intensified following the Chief Minister's public endorsement of Prakash Reddy. The Konda camp has consistently projected Sushmita as a prospective candidate for the constituency. Beyond the immediate ticket dispute, Sushmita launched scathing criticisms against Revanth Reddy, accusing him of “arrogance” and alleging that his leadership has transformed the Congress into a “TD Congress.” She claimed that original Congress leaders are unhappy with the party's current direction under his stewardship.

Adding further weight to her allegations, Sushmita questioned the representation of Backward Classes within the Congress, stating that BC leaders were being sidelined. Most strikingly, she alleged a ₹200-crore land deal involving the Chief Minister's brother and warned that she possessed information to expose other alleged scams involving Revanth Reddy's family. These serious accusations elevate the internal party dispute to a new level, hinting at deeper factionalism and potential controversies within the ruling party.
