Russian Governor’s Office Comes Under Ukrainian Drone Attack

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that a Ukrainian drone blew up near the entrance to the administration building in Russia's Belgorod Region. Gladkov said in a post on social media on Tuesday that three people were hurt in the "terrorist strike" in Belgorod. The governor said that the facilities manager for the administration is in the hospital with shrapnel wounds to his legs, abdomen, and arm. He also said that two women asked for medical help, one of whom was an employee and the other a visitor.

Gladkov said that the attack damaged the outside and windows of the administration building. The governor also released a video of the strike that showed the drone blowing up near the building's entrance and people running for safety. During the day, Kiev sent dozens of UAVs to the Belgorod Region. He said that an FPV-drone attack on the village of Belyanka killed a civilian.

Gladkov wrote that drones also hit a passenger bus in Shebekino and a private car in Gruzskoe, injuring five people, including a 15-year-old boy. During the fight between Moscow and Kiev, the Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk regions, which all share a border with Ukraine, have been hit by drone attacks on energy infrastructure and homes regularly.

Russian officials have called the airstrikes "terrorist attacks" that are meant to make up for the losses that Kiev's military has been suffering on the battlefield. Moscow has responded with its own long-range strike campaign, using missiles and drones to hit dual-use infrastructure in Ukraine, such as power grid facilities and military sites. Russia says it never attacks places that are only for civilians.
