According to reports, police have questioned Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary together, revealing that Siya was involved in a relationship with Chetan alongside her engagement to Ketan. The Pune rural police have indicated that the murder was likely premeditated, with both accused reportedly searching online for methods to kill and engaging in an extensive number of phone calls – a staggering 2,004 calls – leading up to the incident.
Forensic evidence is now being meticulously examined to determine who among the two, Siya or Chetan, administered the fatal push that sent Ketan Agarwal off the cliff. One detail that piqued police suspicion was Chetan Chaudhary’s decision to wear a hoodie on a hot day, raising questions about his intentions and efforts to conceal his identity.
Chetan Chaudhary’s father, Babulal Chaudhary, has vehemently denied his son’s involvement, claiming that Chetan is being 'falsely implicated'. He stated that neither he nor his wife was aware of Siya Goyal before her name surfaced in connection with the case. Babulal mentioned that Chetan had only informed them he was going for a meeting and did not provide any further details. He also claimed that police had assured him it was a minor fraud case and his son would be released quickly.
Adding to the family's defense, Chetan's uncle, Udayram Chowdhury, accused the media of presenting a 'one-sided narrative'. He described Chetan as a sportsman and a straightforward person, asserting his complete innocence. The family maintains they were unaware of Chetan’s relationship with Siya, and during their brief meeting with Chetan in custody, he insisted he was being framed.
