The tragic event unfolded on Tuesday night, June 23, 2026, when Mayank Lohar, 22, was fatally stabbed by Sachin Ramesh Suvarna, 30, inside a first-class compartment of a moving local train. The altercation, which occurred between Andheri and Borivali railway stations, reportedly began over an argument concerning whether the train doors should be kept open during the rain. According to reports, Suvarna felt “humiliated” during the dispute, leading him to pull out a knife and attack Lohar.
Hours after the incident, Sachin Ramesh Suvarna, a resident of the Mira Road area, was apprehended in Panvel, Navi Mumbai, by the Government Railway Police.
